"As a child I loved drawing and "colouring in", copying from books initially and being quite happy in my own world, something that remains today. I had a huge interest in animals, fairy and fantasy imagery as a child, and was an avid reader of Enid Blyton and Alison Uttley.

I am mainly self taught, achieving only Grade D at A level and the only other formal art training being a 1 year art foundation course. The rest has been trial and error, lots of practise and a great deal thrown away in between!

After college I worked for several years in graphic design, learning "on the job"in design studios, before signing with an art agent, producing images of cats, kittens, teddies, cute, whimsical, humour and decorative art for greeting cards, embroidery kits, stationery, gift products and children's books. The designs sold both in the UK and overseas, including Holland, Scandinavia, USA, Spain, Denmark, Germany and Australia.

In the winter of 2007, I went back into my fantasy world and started drawing fairies again. Through the internet, I discovered other artists who also created fairie and fantasy art - and were growns ups too! I set to creating a portfolio of work and started marketing it initially through a well known networking site. Since then I have obtained several licenses and continue to produce new work and ideas.

I have a specially dedicated fairy art website:~ www.thefairyartist.co.uk where I sell my original art, prints and a range of gifts featuring my fairie art.

I use Derwent coloured pencils, on Canson White paper, which I love for the combination of pure white-ness and enough "tooth" to give a lovely texture to the artwork. My favourite subjects are animals, fantasy, faces and feminine subjects and I accept commissions in all aspects of these."
